Confinement Meals

How long has NouRiche been a specialist confinement caterer?

A dedicated brand of the renowned caterer, RichFood Group, NouRiche is Singapore’s leading confinement specialist since 2007, nourishing thousands of mothers.

What does each confinement meal consists of?

There are 5 items per meal consisting of Soup, Meat, Vegetable, Rice and Tea.

How are your confinement meals served?

Our confinement meals will be served in food grade, microwaveable and disposable containers. Liquids are properly sealed to prevent spillage.

Our delivery crew keep your meals warm in heat insulated carriers during the delivery process and and is transferred to your *complimentary thermal bag upon arrival at your door.

*Each customer is gifted a thermal bag.  We encourage customers to hang this thermal bag at the door for drivers to transfer the meal packages. Keep meal in this thermal bag if you are not eating immediately.

Which menu do I begin with?

Regardless of natural or Cesarean birth procedures, you will begin with our Week 1 menu for first 7 days which specially tailored to:

• Ensure lochia is discharged smoothly

• Revitalise blood circulation and movement of Qi within the body

• Restore expanded uterus to its original state

• Expel harmful toxins

During the first week of the confinement period, it is vital for women who have just given birth to pay close attention to the purification of the toxins and the replenishment of nutrients for the body.

Sheng Hua Soup plays a key part in helping postpartum women to start their path in restoring their bodies to healthy and sound state.

No chicken and eggs are served in our Week 1 menu (unless otherwise stated). It is followed by rotating menus for Week A, B or C (depending on the menu that we are running on at that time).

Due to the seasonal nature of vegetable and product availability, we reserve the right to change the menu without notice.

Should I avoid chicken and eggs if I had a Cesarean procedure?

Traditionally, chicken and eggs are best avoided in the first 2 weeks of the confinement period for Cesarean birth mothers.

Does your confinement meal contain MSG?

To aid new mothers in their journey to recovery, we believe that confinement food should be kept light and nutritious to avoid burdening the body. Hence we do not use MSG, soy and oyster sauces.

Is your confinement meal breastfeeding friendly?

Our TCM-approved dishes are lactation friendly, with ingredients like green papaya, salmon, spinach and broccoli.

Do you use alcohol in your confinement meals?

It is generally alright to consume it in moderation. Since alcohol evaporates at around 78 degrees celsius, we simmer and boil soups and dishes at high temperatures to ensure evaporation. It is recommended to breastfeed 2 to 3 hours after consumption of confinement food containing alcohol.

However, you may request to omit alcohol under our Special Requests section when you place your orders.

I do not take certain ingredients, can I request to omit them from my meals?

Kindly advise us your dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. Our Chef will replace accordingly, based on available ingredients each day. Due to the seasonal nature of fresh ingredients, we reserve the right to change the menu without prior notice.

Why does your confinement meal appear oily even when I requested for less oil?

We use sesame oil in cooking confinement meals due to its health enhancing values. The nature of this oil may make dishes appear oily. But rest assured we use sesame oil in the right proportion.

Are your confinement meals suitable for women recovering from miscarriage?

Yes, our confinement meals are suitable for women recovering from miscarriage.

It begins with our Week 1 menu for the first seven days, where no chicken or eggs are served. (unless otherwise stated). It is followed by rotating menus for Week A, B or C (depending on the menu that we are running at the time).

Are you Halal certified?

Our sincere apologies, we are not.

Delivery & Service Fulfillment

What time is the Confinement Meal Delivery?

Lunch: 9.45am to 1.45pm

Dinner: 3.00pm to 7.00pm

We deliver Mondays to Sundays including public holidays, the eve and first three days of Chinese Lunar New Year with additional surcharge. 

For unsuccessful delivery attempts, if customers request us to reattempt to deliver, a re-delivery charge of $7.00 ($7.63 w/ GST) per location shall apply.

Do you deliver during Lunar Chinese New Year 2024?

We will be closed from 9 Feb 2024 (Chinese New Year Eve: 除夕) to 12 Feb 2024 (Chinese New Year Day 3: 初三).

All deliveries will resume on 13 Feb 2024 (Chinese New Year Day 3: 初四).

Can I request for specific time to have my confinement meal delivered to me?

It is not possible as our delivery crew are assigned multiple locations across Singapore.

However, we try our best to ensure customers receive their meals at approximately the same time frame daily. Do provide an allowance of 30 – 45 minutes for bad weather and adverse traffic conditions. Your kind understanding is much appreciated.

Can I request for my meals to be delivered on weekdays only?

Yes. We will postdate the meals and have them delivered till the end of the number of meals that you have booked. Kindly tick the box “No Weekend Delivery” when placing your order.

Can I postpone my meals on certain days due to change in schedule?

Kindly inform us latest 2 days before between 9.00am to 5.00pm at 6980 5707 or whatsapp to 9002 2577. We will postdate the meals and have them delivered till the end of the number of meals that you have booked. In the event that the meal has to be cancelled without sufficient notice given, there will no meal replacement nor refund.

I may give birth earlier or later from my EDD, how do I activate my confinement meals?

We do not start your meal based on your EDD as it is only an estimation. Kindly inform us at least 2 days before between 9.00am to 5.00pm at 6980 5707 or whatsapp to 9002 2577, to commence your meal delivery (regardless of the EDD stated). Our cut-off time is 2 days before at 5.00pm and unable to accommodate call-in after 5.00pm.

When is the latest I have to inform you for meal commencement or delivery changes?

Our cut-off time for meal commencement and delivery changes is strictly 2 days before between 9.00am to 5.00pm. This allows our operations team time to plan and deliver all meals.

I didn't consume the lunch meal and left it at the door since I wasn't at home. When I returned in the evening, I noticed the dinner meal had been delivered, but the lunch meal was missing.

To uphold the utmost quality and safety standards for our valued customers, we have established a policy to dispose of any unattended or unconsumed meals after they have expired. This measure is in place to prevent any accidental consumption of expired meals and to guarantee that you consistently receive the freshest and most delightful dishes.

Your health and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us, and this policy is a reflection of our commitment to providing you with the best dining experience possible. 

Can I upgrade or extend my meal package?

Package upgrade or extension can be done by topping up the difference on the quoted price. Kindly inform us 2 days before your meal starts / completion date and between 9.00am to 5.00pm at 6980 5707 or whatsapp to 9002 2577.

Am I able to change my delivery address in the midst of the duration of my meal package?

Yes you are able to do so. Kindly inform us at 2 days before your meal starts / completion date and between 9.00am to 5.00pm at 6980 5707 or whatsapp to 9002 2577.

Do you deliver to CBD and town areas in Singapore?

We deliver to all residential addresses in Singapore mainland with exception of Tuas and Sentosa area. Delivery surcharge of $5.00 ($5.45 w/ GST) per meal per trip for addresses within the Central Business District (CBD) & Town Area (Orchard, Core Central Area).

When do I have to make the deposit payment?

A 15% deposit (non-refundable) is required upon confirmation of service to secure your booking slot in our calendar. We accept PayNow, Credit card and Cheque payment.

When do I have to make the balance payment?

Balance payment is due on the first day of meal delivery. We reserve the right to terminate the service if payment is not fully received on time. We accept PayNow, Credit card and Cheque payment.

Termination & Refund

Can I terminate in the midst of my meal package?

You may do so by informing us at least 2 days before between 9.00am to 5.00pm at 6980 5707 or whatsapp to 9002 2577 to terminate your package.

All bookings made are deemed final. An administrative fee of $45.00 ($49.05 w/ GST) will be imposed for any termination or amendment. Any discount given will also be voided.

We will pro-rate the consumed meals:

Regular confinement meal: $36.00 ($39.24 w/ GST) per meal

Vegetarian confinement meal: $46.00 ($50.14 w/ GST) per meal

We will do the necessary refund after the above mentioned charges. No reinstatement is allowed once cancellation is done.

I have paid deposit for my booking but have not activate my package yet. Am I able to cancel and get my deposit back?

Deposit will be forfeited should there be a cancellation due to any reason. Deposit for booking made is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. No reinstatement is allowed once cancellation is done.
