Is NouRiche new in the field of providing confinement meals?

NouRiche is a specialist confinement meals brand derived from RichFood, which has nourished thousands of mothers for more than a decade.

Why should I start with 1st week of the menu upon commencement of meals?

The first week of the menu is specially tailored to:

  1. Ensure that lochia is discharged smoothly
  2. Revitalize blood circulation and movement of Qi within the body
  3. Restoring the expanded uterus to its original state
  4. Expel harmful toxins

During the first week of the confinement period, it is vital the women who have just given birth pay close attention to the purification of the toxins and the replenishment of nutrients for the body.

Why is special care in confinement important?

Confinement is the most important turning point in a woman’s life. If well managed, she can regain her youth and improve her physical weaknesses. It is the best opportunity for women to improve their health in a lifetime. Treasure this opportunity.

What does the confinement meal consist of?

It consists of complimentary rice, complimentary red date tea, soup, one meat and vegetable. Our new menu will come a different tea and dessert, with brown/red rice. White rice can be requested.

Why is ginger used in the confinement meals?

Old ginger (??) or mother ginger, is a commonly used ingredient and widely used in our meals. It is renowned for its antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and is often used for medicinal purposes. It is thick in flesh and helps to promote sweating, dissipate cold, warms spleen and stomach. Rich in dietary fibre, it also helps to prevent swelling and constipation.

Can I consume alcohol if I am breastfeeding?

It is generally alright to consume them in mild moderation. Since alcohol evaporates at around 78 degree Celsius, simmering and boiling should be hot enough for alcohol to evaporate.

It is recommended to only breastfeed 2-3 hours after consumption of alcohol/ alcohol prepared food.

However, you can request it to be opted out of the meal under our Special Requests column.

Can I request for a specific time to have my confinement meal to be delivered to me?

That would not be possible as our delivery crew is assigned multiple meals to be delivered at one time.

However, we do try to ensure our customers receive their meal at around the same time daily. Do provide an allowance of 30-45 minutes due to bad weather and traffic condition. Your kind understanding is much appreciated.

How are the confinement meal served to me?

Our confinement meals are served in microwaveable disposable containers right to your doorstep. Liquids are sealed to prevent spillage.

Our delivery crew keeps the food warm in heat insulated carriers during their delivery process. Customers are given a complimentary thermal bag on the first day of delivery. They are advised to keep their food warm in the thermal bag if they are not consuming it immediately upon receipt.

Why are the confinement meals not served in traditional tiffin carriers and thermal flasks?

This is for hygiene purpose and to reduce the hassle for our customers having to wash the carriers and thermal flasks after every meal. They can spend more time to rest and bond with their babies this way.

Are your microwaveable disposable containers health hazardous?

Our microwaveable disposable containers are BPA free. However, we do not advise re-using them.

Do I have to return the thermal bag?

The thermal bag is yours to keep. You can use it to keep your child’s food and milk warm when you are outdoor in future.

Please leave the thermal bag provided at the door. Again, do keep the food in the thermal bag if not consumed immediately after receipt.

Why does your confinement meal seem oily even though I have asked for less oil?

We use mainly sesame oil in our cooking for confinement food due to its health enhancing values.

The nature of the oil may make dishes look seemingly oily. But rest assured we do not use it excessively in amount nor other types of oil.

Does your food contain MSG?

We do not use MSG in our confinement food.

We know how important it is for mothers to recuperate and eat healthily during their confinement period. Natural seasonings are used instead to enhance flavours.

Should I avoid chicken and eggs if I have given birth via C-section?

Traditionally, chicken and eggs are best avoided during at least the first two weeks of confinement if mothers deliver via C-section.

Why do you not deliver to some parts of Singapore?

To ensure customers get their meals soonest possible, we avoid certain parts of Singapore that has high traffic flow or congestion that will delay subsequent deliveries.

Do you deliver on weekends and public holidays?

Yes, we deliver daily except for the eve and the first three days of Chinese New Year.

Can I request for my meals to be delivered on weekdays only?

Yes, we will postdate the meals and have them delivered till the end of the number of meals that you have booked.

I have delivered earlier than my EDD (expected due date)? How do I commence my confinement meal?

We will only start the delivery after receiving the call (before 5pm) the day after. It does not follow the EDD.

When do I have to make a deposit payment?

You should make a deposit payment upon confirmation of your booking to secure the allotted booking slot.

How do I make deposit payment?

You can make a deposit payment after receiving our invoice as confirmation via email. We accept payment through cheque, bank transfer, PayNow or PayPal. Please (indicate the invoice number if you are doing a bank transfer) capture a screenshot of the payment and send it to us or give us a call.

When do I make the balance payment?

You can make the balance payment as per the modes above upon commencement of meals.

My mum will be coming over to cook my meals for me on some days. Can I reschedule my meals for those days?

You may but do give us a call at least a day in advance (before 5pm) to cancel the meal/meals. We will postdate them and have them delivered till the end of the number of meals that you have booked.

I have booked for a 20 days’ confinement meal package. Can I extend it for another 8 days?

Yes, you may do so by calling us and we will extend it for you. We will pro-rate the meals according to the longer package and you get more value out of it.

Can I terminate the rest of my confinement meals even though I am only halfway through the package I have booked for?

Yes, you may do so by calling us at least one day in advance (before 5pm) to terminate the meals.

Do note that as all bookings made are deemed final, an administrative fee of $45.00 ($48.15 w/GST) will be imposed for any termination or amendment. Any discount given will be voided.

Pro-Rated Charges for consumed meals:
– Regular Confinement meal : $35.00 ($37.45 w/ GST) per meal
– Vegan Confinement meal : $45.00 ($48.15 w/ GST) per meal

I have paid a deposit for my booking and have not commenced any meal yet. Can I cancel and get my deposit back?

Please understand that we block allocated booking slots on first come first serve basis. We may turn away other customers if they also book during that period. There is also administration charge. Therefore, we are unable to do a refund of the deposit.
